Stone sculpture for the legend of the 7 slain Wenden kings"heroic battle"
June 28, 2021
The name of the Thronberg (today Drohmberg) lying in front of the Czorneboh in a north-westerly direction is reminiscent of the time of the fighting between the Wends and the Germans. The legend tells:
Seven kings of the Wends once sat on seven stones of this mountain and discussed how they could beat the Germans out of the field and fight for freedom and peace. The battle began. The meeting was hot and bloody and all seven kings met their deaths in the fighting. But their fellow countrymen held the battlefield and buried their beloved princes with golden crowns on their heads under the seven stones on which they sat. From then on, however, they called the mountain Kronenberg, Kronberg or Thronberg.
