The Köthener hut, also called chapel, is a refuge. The Köthener hut was erected in 1897 as a white-painted wooden hut by traveling friends of the Harzclub branch association Köthen . Its small bell tower makes it look like a small church, so it is also called a chapel; But she also got this nickname in memory of the dilapidated wooden shack, which previously stood in the same place. Some hikers ring the bell to signal their arrival there. The hut is being looked after by the Harzklub branch association Harzgerode e. V., who takes care of the receipt.
