Skógarkot is a historic site in Þingvellir National Park. It was once a thriving farm, but now only the ruins are visible. The farm was inhabited from ancient times until 1936, when it fell into disrepair. Skógarkot is mentioned in the Icelandic sagas, especially in the Landnámabók. The walking route to Skógarkot is short, it takes about 10-15 minutes to get there.
