The Johanna spring takes its name from the oldest daughter of the director of the Landeck psychiatry. The daughter died and the parents had two springs built in memory.

A very beautifully designed source frame with the two troughs. With the bench right next to it a great place for a rest.

Text on the information board on site: "The origin of the name of the spring goes back to
        Martha Maria Johanna Sophie Karrer, *September 27, 1874 - April 17, 1887
She was the eldest of the 5 daughters of the royal director (1883 - 1916) of today's Palatinate Hospital Klingenmünster Dr. Ferdinand Karrer and his wife Emma, née Schnizlein.
After a long ordeal, Johanna died [at just 12 years old] as a result of a serious illness. In memory of their daughter, the parents had two springs built, which have since borne their child's first names Martha and Johanna." The Martha spring is located further up in the forest.

An old sandstone slab with the name “Dr. “Karrer Quelle” was found during the renovation work in 2013 and is now located to the left of the spring.
