The Wedeler Marsch bird station is located in the middle of the Fährmannssand bran collection point, which has now been renatured again. An Eldorado for all kinds of water birds. You can observe at three observation stations without disturbing the wildlife. But the station must be open for this to happen, otherwise everything is barricaded.

Opening hours: Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, public holidays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At the level of the Carl Zeiss bird station, you should definitely take a look at the marshland side of the Elbe dike. If there is something to see there, it cannot be ignored on the Elbe side either. Birds can be pretty loud!

The grounds of the bird station are only accessible during opening hours (Wednesday, Thurs, Sat, Sun and public holidays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.), but the flocks of birds are also impressive from afar - especially when thousands of birds suddenly take to the air!

It's best here - like almost everywhere - on weekdays, when there are hardly any people about and you have the dyke and the Elbe to yourself in places.
