The custom of "torches" was practiced here until the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. In 1962 a memorial was erected on the Hoher Fels.

The Hohe Fels got its name from its location, high above Calw on the Kapellenberg. The stone slabs look like fingers pointing west. The arrangement of the stones is not natural, it is assumed that the Celts wanted to build a wall there with the stone slabs at their time.
