Winternheim Wood

The Hiwweltour leads along a narrow hiking trail through the natural forest on the Westerberg – pure hiking pleasure.

In June 2022, the route was changed: now it no longer goes through this small forest, which is called Winternheimer Grove, but along the outer edge of the forest, i.e. only a few meters further, twice left or twice right - depending on which direction you are coming from one comes. There are signs everywhere asking you to be considerate of the wild animals and to keep dogs on a leash. Since the retreat area for wild animals is getting smaller and smaller, everyone will understand.

Unfortunately, this path is NOT part of the Hiwweltour Westerberg, which is guided on gravel paths around the forest. If you arrive on the other side on this detour, you know that you should have chosen the narrow path.
