Beautiful view of St. Gilgen, Lake Wolfgang and the surrounding mountains. Easy climb on the east side. Relatively steep on the west side with many wooden steps and metal stairs. No retreat, but some seating at the hut. take a snack with you. The stone clefts are also interesting and fun for children to scramble through.

The short hike to the Plombergstein is rewarded with a wonderful view of Lake Wolfgang, St. Gilgen and the surrounding mountains. From here you can, among other things see the Schafberg, the Sparber and the Zwölferhorn.
This vantage point is one of the so-called "Gschmå Platzln" on Lake Wolfgang. “Gschmå” means: cozy, personable, beautiful, entertaining, pleasant. If everything fits, then it's “gschmå” - like on the Plombergstein.
At these beautiful places, of which there are around 10 around Lake Wolfgang, new benches have been built. Here you can rest, have a picnic and enjoy the view ...

I can absolutely recommend the tour to the Plombergstein and is very varied and just awesome, especially for children.
