"Trail" is a little exaggerated here ... 😉

Hiking

All of the surrounding historical territories had a share in the forest areas near the Sandplacken Pass. Therefore there are numerous three- and four-mark boundary stones, some of which are still preserved. At this point, the areas of the Duchy of Nassau, the Landgraviate of Hessen-Homburg and the Landgraviate (most recently titular Electorate) of Hessen-Kassel bordered one another.

Hiking

The three-marker bears the inscriptions LH DW 8 (Landgraviate of Hesse -Homburg, Domänenwald)
KH 17 (Electorate of Hesse (-Kassel, Praunheimer Wald) and HN (Duchy of Nassau, Schmittener Wald).
