Tips
The 11m deep reservoir on the Penkenjoch is embedded in a wonderful natural backdrop. Here you can rest comfortably on the shore and enjoy a fantastic view of the Zillertal Alps. The pond can be easily walked around, so you have the opportunity to let its panorama affect you from every side of the bank.In summer as an oasis of calm with an impressive view, in winter the reservoir acts as a lifeblood for the snowmaking of the slopes. Incidentally, the shape of the pond clearly resembles a heart, which was not planned when it was built! Chance had a hand in it. The heart shape was only discovered through aerial photographs by tandem pilots.
