The Eulenturm is a tower of the former city fortification that has been preserved to this day. The Eulenturm is the only fortification tower of the former city wall that has been preserved in its original height. It was a strategically important building, as you could see from its top far to the south along the Fulda and the Nürnberger Landstrasse.
While it also served as a prison in the 17th century, the town servant later lived in an apartment in the upper half of the tower. A few years ago, the Eulenturm was completely renovated. Another part of the old fortifications has been preserved in the castle garden.

The Owl Tower is actually nothing special at all, except for its history. But it is very suitable as a guide on excursions, like a lighthouse, you always know where you are when you see it in the distance 😂
