A circular route from the idyllic valley leads up to Podemus. Along the way you can learn a lot about the “cultural history of mills” on boards, including the barn windmill, which is unique in the world. Old buildings have been preserved in the village center of Podemus. The forge used to belong to the Zschoner mill, as evidenced by the coat of arms above the entrance. The former Vorwerk, a four-sided farm from 1793, has been a model for organic farming for almost 20 years after being completely renovated. The “Hotel de bücke dich” emerged from the village tavern, where Napoleon is said to have stopped. The property is now privately owned.
