A nice rest area at the stamp station.

The Katzsohlteich is a reservoir and is located on the outskirts of Güntersberge, slightly above the Mühlteich, also known as the “Bergsee”.
There is also a nice rest area at the Katzsohlteich, which is used as a receiving water and fishing water. There used to be a marble mill at the Katzsohlteich that was powered by water power from the pond, but unfortunately it no longer exists today. In the mill, marble from a quarry located slightly above the pond was cut and polished.
The Mühlenteich is a reservoir created in 1752 with a 10 m high earth dam on the Selke watercourse. It is used for fishing, flood protection, low water levels and is also a popular local recreation destination. The mountain lake is 125 m long and 12 m wide and is used for bathing as well as for fishing and rowing.
For railway lovers, the Selketalbahn, which passes directly on the southern shore of the mountain lake, offers a nice photo opportunity.
A special attraction in Güntersberge is the extraordinary Mousetrap and Curiosity Museum. You can admire mousetraps of all kinds, but also old, rare kitchen appliances and other curiosities. In the Gallery of the Silent Places, which is part of the museum, there is a picture gallery on this topic that is unique in Germany.
A good starting point for the short hike to Katzsohlteich is the parking lot at the mountain lake, from where you follow the signposted circular path and then turn off to Katzsohlteich.
