This path, which connects the Suderwicker Feld on the Hahnenpatt with Spork, owes its curious name not to eleven biblical people but to twelve beech trees.
which used to be lined up along part of the way.
At that time, this led directly past the trees as a narrow path.
Which can only be seen from afar through the game reserve (north of the Sterneborgweg).
One of these "apostles" was destroyed by a storm, there were only eleven left.
During the Second World War, five more of the now mighty trees fell victim to bombs.
The old series of the "Elf Apostel" has since been supplemented by the Suderwick Heimatverein with young beeches,
but it will take a few decades for them to reach the height of the old "apostles".

This way has nothing to do with the Bible. Here the user "Guido" left a tip with reference to the home club. See here: komoot.de/highlight/3378467
