The Heinrich-Heine-Kurpark is very nicely laid out. The waterfall, the Völkerschlachtdenkmal, the park pond, the reading house, the water cascades and the treading pool are all worth seeing.

The Regentrude, one of the most beautiful fairy tales of poetic realism, was created here in Heiligenstadt when Storm fell ill with rubella in his apartment on Wilhelmstrasse at the turn of the year 1863/64 and “hatched” a whole fairy tale seed.
