An actual town hall is mentioned for the first time in 1415. Around 1470, the city had a new building erected at the current location. On April 17, 1760, the council decided to demolish the former building and build a new one. It was built according to a model by Christian Schneller. With a few exceptions, only Diessenhof craftsmen were involved in the project. The house was renovated in 1833/1834. Two iron ovens were installed in the town hall. In 1881 a school building was set up in the north-western part, which was expanded into prison cells in 1929. In 1988/89 the town hall was completely rebuilt under the direction of the architects Renato Zarotti and Carmen Barabas. New offices were set up and the attic was expanded.

Interesting building. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to delve deeper into the history of the city with its old buildings. Another visit to the old town with more time is certainly worthwhile.

The town hall and the Oberhof (right next to it) are impressive buildings.
