Visible from afar, the church characterizes the townscape of Niederneuching. The previous church was demolished due to dilapidation and rebuilt from 1690 to 1695 by the master mason Hans Knogler from Erding, retaining the Gothic sacristy and the lower part of the Gothic choir. Before the renovation from 1982 to 1985, the tower still had a pointed dome. It is thanks to careful renovations that the altars and pulpit have been preserved in the Niederneuchinger church of St. Johann. Worth seeing are the figures by Christian Jorhan on the high altar.
