You should habe hemlet, gloves and a shoe with good grip. Some do without helmet and gloves but it is risky. In cave, you can hurt your head while climbing or get hurt by a loose stone kicked by some climber ahead you. Gloves help to keep your hand warm as the stones and ropes are cold. These are for summer times.
