In the middle of a meadow, this stone marks the state border. In the Meppener Grenztraktat from the year 1824 the border course between the kingdom Hanover and the Netherlands was specified. Therefore, on the western side there is a big "N" for the Netherlands and on the western side a "H" for Hannover. This should also be the term "green border" clarified :-)
