The Falls of Bruar were immortalised by legendary Scots Romantic poet Robert Burns in his ‘The Humble Petition of Bruar Water’. This wonderful series of cascades can be explored thanks to a network of footpaths and two footbridges.

Interestingly, Burns' poem was written from the perspective of the tumbling waters and urged the 4th Duke of Atholl to landscape the surroundings ‘wi’ tow’ring trees, and bonnie spreading bushes’. The fruits of his labours are clear to see today, as the area is resplendent with greenery.

Mountain biking

Lots of walkers heading up and down the falls of Bruar path but definitely worth checking it out for the beauty of the place. The house of Bruar shop is worth visiting too if you haven’t been there. They also have good fish and chips if it’s dinner time or maybe you just want to grab a snack or go present shopping.
