After the war, the British army took over the area as a training ground and the inhabitants were forcibly removed. Only 3 of the original buildings remain, including the church and the school, although numerous foundation blocks can still be found: The school also houses an exhibition, including photos of training exercises in the area. The other buildings are military structures for training purposes. The British handed over the area to the Belgian army in 1950, which eventually withdrew in 2006, and the country became part of the Eifel National Park.
