Hiking

is mentioned in 1756 for the first time as Blankschmiede. Since 1879 it was owned by the Schlösser family. The last blacksmith Wilhelm Schlösser worked here until 1949. The Calf Stud In addition to the old blacksmiths, once a spring a gate was set up in which the calves were prepared for the first sprouting with the large cow herd. The herd consisted of Harz red cattle and was called because of their bell ringing affectionately "lady chapel". It was expelled in the autumn of 1965 for the last time in Braunlage.
