They are a characteristic legacy of the rich ethnographic heritage of the Bajo Miño region and as such have been declared Assets of Cultural Interest by the Junta de Galicia.

Depending on the direction you go steeply uphill or downhill at this point. Downhill you should bring along a minimum of vertigo. The path consists partly of centuries-old steps, partly of the weathered remains of the same and simple stone chunks. Surefootedness is required. But the view of the terraced one behind the other built small mills is really worth it.
