The local history house in Capelle is located in the immediate vicinity of the parish church of St. Dionysius. Through its voluntary commitment to monument protection, the Nordkirchen local history association saved the "former Steffens restaurant" in Capelle from demolition and made it accessible to the public again. The building is important for Capelle because it is one of the last largely authentically preserved buildings from the period before 1900.
