In 1538 the castle barn was completed by the Counts of Hennberg-Römhild. There were various tenants in 1815-1902. The last verifiable tenant from 1895-1902 was Mr. and Mrs. Frankenfeld. 1902 began the sale of the royal estate to farmers, an essential condition for the creation of strong farms. 1902-1976 the council of the district acquired the property. Extensive construction work has been carried out since 1991. For the future it will serve as a cultural center for the community in the VG.
