Tips
Weiden was first mentioned in a document in 1338 and after 1413 it came into the possession of the Raaber (Győr) cathedral chapter. In 1588 the place was granted market rights. The place suffered severe damage in the course of the Turkish Wars in 1529 and 1683 as well as in the Kuruzzenkrieg from 1704 to 1709. In 1606 a major fire devastated the place.
