Watershed, crossroads, judicial border - an important focal point.
"Where the old road that leads on the watershed of the ridge between Main and Aurach *) is cut by the equally old Viereth-Kircheich road connection, there is a stone wayside shrine about 3½ m high," with a large Messess Crucifix on it " Wooden pillar that carried the crucifix. The pillar separated the prince-bishop's Würzburg cents or judicial districts of Eltmann and Hoheneich from one another and was mentioned as a special landmark in a file from 1540 and later again in the French Wars of 1796 and 1800. It may have been back then According to legend, a French soldier tore down the shiny crucifix as he marched past and took it with him because he believed it was made of gold.Later, when he became seriously ill and longed for death because of great pain, he could not die until he stole it The crucifix had been brought back to its place - "Messinge Herrgott" - actually people want to say: There s brass picture of the Lord God - on the north side of the wayside shrine is no longer yellow, but black, otherwise small and unsightly. (Klarmann / Spiegel 1912)
*) Association formerly Bamberg via Tütschengreuth with Zell a. Ebersberg and further with Haßfurt and Schweinfurt. From Dankenfeld 1902. - K. "

I also like the path that leads left towards Trunstadt.Admittedly it's not a great surface, but it is mobile.
And the views just before Trunstadt in the direction of Haßberge, the Obermaintal and Bamberg are really worth seeing!
