This well-preserved and impressive cross is located right by the roadside. Beautifully crafted, it has withstood the Odenwald weather for over 500 years.

The Bernhardskreuz is made like a stele. On the front it shows a relief of the crucified. The upper finishing stone protrudes like a canopy. The stele is embedded in a base stone. A smaller cross must originally have been set in on top of the closing stone. The wayside shrine was probably erected here before 1500, making it one of the oldest in the Odenwald.
