The Prüm district administrator of the 19th century Bärsch wrote in his "eiflia Illustrata" about this stone on the Schneifelhöhe in the middle of the 19th century. The stone was forgotten for a long time. It was only rediscovered in 1892, and in 1930 it was put up in its current location in memory of Trier's chief forester Ivo Jansen. (Information board suburb)
