A place of pilgrimage since the apparition of the Virgin to Saint Maurille, the old chapel has been replaced by a sanctuary of majestic proportions built between 1890 and 1913. The 40-meter-high square tower which marks the surrounding landscape was built after the first World War. Pilgrims always come there to venerate Notre-Dame l'Angevine. There are also several evocations of the Vendée past, with in particular the stained glass window of the "field of the Martyrs".
