The Kottenborn mill, powered by the water of the Wirftbach, was built at the beginning of the 18th century. The mill initially had an overshot water wheel, later a turbine. There was often a water shortage. In 1728 the tenants paid three guilds and six albus rent to the Electorate of Cologne's Nürburg office. Since the middle of the 19th century it has been owned by the Koll family, previously Kaifenheim, Adenau. The mill was shut down in 1954.

Hiking

Near the picturesque 18th century mill there was a fishing park where you could also buy fish. The facility still exists but is closed. The mill is inhabited and privately owned.
