The fortified manor house in Czaniec, located on a stream that is a tributary of the Soła River, was built in the first half of the 17th century by the Stokłowski family of the Drzewica coat of arms.

Defensive manor house in Czaniec - a 17th-century building located in the village of Czaniec in the Silesian Voivodeship, near Kęty. It is a two-story noble residence with defensive features.
The first Renaissance manor house was built at the beginning of the 17th century and included the southern wing of the building that exists today, with cellars and a defensive terrace surrounded by four bastions located at its corners.
In the mid-seventeenth century, the manor house was rebuilt by the Stokowski family of the Drzewica coat of arms into a small palace and garden complex. At that time, the existing building was replaced with one of the wings of the new residence, the northern wing with a chapel and a staircase were added, as well as both galleries, creating a central courtyard. A garden layout was also planned.
During the eighteenth century, the building frequently changed owners. An important among them is the castellan of Oświęcim, Franciszek Czerny-Szwarzenberg, who carried out another reconstruction involving bricking up the arcades on the front elevation and adding a rear avant-corps with late Baroque decorations from the garden side.
In 1822, the manor became the property of the Żywiec Habsburgs, who ruled it for over 100 years, until 1925, when Karol Stefan Habsburg transferred the manor with the farm and garden to the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences.
      Currently in private hands.

On a small stream, a tributary of the Soła River, a fortified manor house, not so much a castle, has survived. It was built in the first half of the 17th century by the Stokłowski family, coat of arms of Drzewica. The three-winged structure with an inner courtyard, supported by slopes and topped with a Renaissance attic, was a miniature version of the bastion castles of the time. The castle's defensive elements included a surrounding wall with circular corner bastions and a moat. It was certainly not a structure capable of withstanding regular troops, but it certainly ensured the safety of its inhabitants from various gangs and common thugs, which were common in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth at the time.
