The Monument of the Little Insurgent (Polish: Pomnik Małego Powstańca) is a monument in front of the city walls of Warsaw's Old Town, dedicated to the memory of the children who died in the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. The approximately 150 cm high sculpture was created shortly after the war as a student work by the sculptor Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz (1919–2005).
In reality, children did not take part in the fighting due to the shortage of weapons. The Warsaw Boy Scouts were used as postmen and medics.
A miniature of the sculpture was revered by many Polish families as a symbol of fallen family members. The sculpture itself was publicly erected and unveiled on October 1, 1983.
