Buch is a district of the Lower Franconian community of Untermerzbach in the Haßberge district.
The village is located in the northeastern part of the district on the back of an elongated ridge of the Haßberge.
The place name is probably based on the name Buchenwald. It was first mentioned in 1225 when the Banz monastery received the village of "Buche". In 1232 it was mentioned in the certificate of division of the Würzburg Prince-Bishop Hermann, in which Ebern was separated from the parish Pfarrweisach and "Bugh" came to Ebern. In 1260 Albert von Schaumberg got the village "Buch" as a pledge.
The Evangelical Lutheran chapel was built by the citizens of Buch. The inauguration was in 1892.
