After the end of World War II, members of the Kolping Family Marktredwitz erected an atonement cross for the fallen soldiers. The way up there is lined with granite steles, on each of which there are a few lines of the Our Father in German and Czech - the last two lines are on the stile that stands next to the cross on the mountain.
The cross is illuminated at night and thus warns the viewer to pause for a brief moment of reflection and silence.
