    Gottlieber Seecafé & factory shop

Gottlieber Spezialitäten AG, Espenstrasse 6, CH-8274 Gottlieben

History - the art of baking since 1928

In the Thurgau village of Gottlieben (founded in 1251), Hüppen has been known and popular for a long time. The secret of the Hüppen baking art has been guarded and passed on for generations in Gottlieben. Queen Hortense Bonaparte enjoyed so-called “Gaufrettes” from Gottlieben when she lived at the nearby Arenenberg Castle from 1817 to 1837. Her famous son, the future Emperor of France Napoleon III, also became an enthusiastic fan of the delicate Gottlieber specialty.

The well-known Gottlieber Hüppen are made here in Gottlieben (Nomen est omen).

At Seecaffee you can buy all flavors individually. A Hüppe costs around 1 CHF.
