This watermill is very worth seeing. You can take a break in the adjacent café. Or you just enjoy the beautiful place. A memorial to a local poet is designed with benches so that you can sit down there. Really done nicely.

There may be a connection between the founding of Nienborg Castle and the emergence of the prince-bishop's corn water mill at Nienborg. The exact time when the mill was built is not known.
A function was probably added to it when it was relocated between 1397 and 1400: a water mill for oil beating was built opposite the corn mill. The oil mill was probably converted into a fulling mill in the second half of the 16th century.
Between 1806 and 1814 it was at least partially converted into a corn mill and after 1819 into a bone crusher.
