In the further course of the Neckar promenade one learns from a memorial plaque on the ferry house that the American writer Mark Twain is said to have stopped there in 1879 after a raft trip on the Neckar.
At the end of the promenade there is a small bridge over the Steinach, which flows into the Neckar there. The course of the tributary is beautifully documented on a memorial stone at the mouth.
