Chiny is also known as a departure point for boat trips on the Semois. Of course, just like in the rest of the Ardennes, you can venture down with a kayak or canoe, but it is more fun to make the trip with a flat-bottomed boat. These flat-bottomed boats were one of the first and most popular attractions in the Ardennes. This way of navigating the Semois was already very popular at the end of the nineteenth century. In the summer months, weekends and during school holidays, this is possible daily at other times, reservation must be made in advance. Because there is an official gué (ford ford in the river) right next to this "passerelle", you can also take your horse in the river here.
