The 101 steps to the viewing platform are absolutely doable! At the top you have a great view of Wolfhagen and Weidelsburg! The tower is open and inside there is some graffiti on the walls, some of which I really like. 👍🧙

The Ofenberg Tower was closed when I visited (on a Saturday, February 25th). There are no opening times posted outside.

The Ofenberg Tower was opened in 1964 and once you have climbed the 101 steps you are at a height of 390 m above sea level.

An information board on the Ofenberg tower also explains the history of the Ofenberg itself. This was once a volcano and, together with all the other volcanoes and magma eruptions (500 in number), this volcanic field is also the largest in Germany. You can look at the rock in the quarries around the Ofenberg tower. The Ofenberg is also the only location in Europe to date where the rock eclogite has been found.
