The Schoorls dunes are the highest at 54.4 meters and the widest at 5 kilometers in the Netherlands. Open dunes alternate with dense forests, damp plains and heathland. A paradise for hikers and nature lovers!

We walked through here in August with 27°c and it was really beautiful! First through a spruce forest and later you come to the dunes. A lovely cool sea breeze came towards us and that was necessary because some parts you walk through the sand and that is quite heavy! Oh also a tip: check yourself for ticks! I had a (mini)tick on my leg, which I luckily discovered before it got stuck.
