The Nederheide is a forest area of 463 hectares. Although this original wasteland was cleared and planted with Scots pine at the beginning of the 20th century, this land has never been sold to private individuals, but has always been municipal property. The Nederheide is closely connected to the very extensive estate and wooded area of the Stippelberg, here you will find forests, sand drifts, heather and stately avenues. On the southern edge of the Nederheide there are old gravel mining areas, some of which have been renatured and blend well into the landscape.
