Former shooting range in the Bocholt city forest

The former city forest camp is located nearby. It was first inhabited by the National Socialists, the so-called Austrian Legion (1935-1938) and here, at the Lost Place, was the former shooting range where the Legion had its shooting practice. Today you can still clearly see that the individual shooting ranges were separated from each other by sand walls to prevent accidents.

The nearby street "Wiener Allee" was named after the first residents of the city forest camp.

In wet weather, the "Lost Place" is difficult to reach.
