World War II memorial to Canadian troops who were instrumental in liberating this sector of Normandy. Their first attempt during Operation Jubilee on August 19, 1942 had been quickly repulsed by the German army with losses for the Canadian liberators. Two stone stelae and a Canadian flag mosaic are in the park next to a small chapel Saint-Thomas-de-Cantorbery.

Pourville-sur-Mer has risen from the ruins caused by an allied amphibious assault on August 19, 1942. The Canadian regiment of the "South Saskatchewan" and the "Cameron highlanders" - who landed to the sound of bagpipes - brought inflict heavy damage on the enemy. They were able to reembark thanks to the dedication of the Marines and the sacrifice of their rear.

Near the chapel is a memorial to the Canadian soldiers who fell in Operation Jubilee on August 19, 1942. Pourville was one of four landing sites at the time, but the attack was quickly repulsed by the German army.
