Pleasant path over springy forest floor to the path along the German-French border.

Beautiful passage along the German-French border. Traces of the trenches from World War II can still be seen. The forests were simply completely replanted after the war. This is recognizable by the many trees standing in a row.

Nature reserve "Beruser Kalksteinbruch"The site of the former Röchling’s limestone quarry, which operated until the post-war period, was officially designated as a nature reserve "Beruser Kalksteinbruch" by the Saarland Ministry of the Environment in 1983. As the first state-designated nature reserve since the incorporation of the Saarland into the Federal Republic of Germany (1957), it serves to protect and preserve the unique flora and fauna found here, such as the bird of the "nine-killer" or the so-called "pyramid orchid" as an orchid species. As a geological and cultural historical monument, the exposed and visible series of rocks of the Upper Muschelkalk, exposed in the limestone quarry walls, reminds of man and nature at the same time.
