The way to the Kneifelspitze is definitely worth it!
The view of the mountains of the Berchtesgaden Alps is fantastic🔝 You only need good shoes. The last few kilometers can be very slippery when wet. But the way is definitely worth it!

The Watzmann is the central massif of the Berchtesgaden Alps. The highest peak is the Watzmann-Mittelspitze (2713 m above sea level), which is also the highest point in the German part of the Berchtesgaden Alps. The Watzmann legend is entwined around the Watzmann and its secondary peaks (Kleiner Watzmann or Watzmannfrau and Watzmannkinder). The Watzmann East Face is the highest face in the Eastern Alps. Among the main German peaks, the Watzmann is the third highest.
