Steinkarkopf Summit

Actually, on this day in September 2023, I wanted to climb the Wörner via the Hochlandhütte. However, I was quite late and thunderstorms were forecast for the afternoon.
So I decided to change the tour from the Wörnersattel and took the path towards Steinkarkopf.
At first I was a little disappointed, as I wanted to climb a peak higher than 2400 meters and now had to make do with only 1981 meters 😅
But the disappointment soon disappeared when I reached this beautiful and so lonely peak.
It has been shown once again that the altitude is not necessarily the decisive factor for a great view and a beautiful path.
After enjoying the solitude on the Steinkarkopf with a snack, I continued over the ridge to the Zunderweidkopf and from there via the beautiful Rehbergalm back to Mittenwald.
In the end, it was a wonderful tour and I arrived at my accommodation just in time before the thunderstorm.🤗
