The Michaelsberg near Cleebronn is with a height of 394 m a prominent elevation on the southern edge of the Zabergäus. Remnants of buildings have been found here from Roman times. In addition to the predominantly Romanesque St. Michael's Church, there are also the buildings of a baroque Capuchin monastery, which today serve as a Catholic youth conference center. Traces of the medieval Obermagenheim Castle can be found on the western edge of the mountain.

The mountain is a cone mountain with a plateau approximately 350 m long and a maximum of 60 m wide. It owes the title "Guardian of Zabergäus" to its exposed location. It is located around one kilometer southeast of the municipality of Cleebronn. In the immediate vicinity there is to the north - in the direction of the Zabergäus - the Magenheim Castle and south - on the edge of the Stromberg - the Tripsdrill adventure park. In good weather, a distant view is possible as far as the Königstuhl, the Katzenbuckel, the Löwenstein Mountains and the Swabian Alb.

The Michaelsberg is the natural landmark of Cleebronn and shapes the landscape around the city. At 394m, the mountain is the highest elevation of the Zabergäu and is therefore not called "Guardian of the Zabergäu" for nothing. It opens up a magical view of the lowlands with orchards and lovely vineyards extending far beyond Stuttgart. The striking Kegelberg is crowned by the small St. Michael's Church with Romanesque and Gothic elements. The summit can be easily reached from the Katharinenplaisir car park between the Tripsdrill adventure park and Michaelsberg via vineyard paths. Brave hikers can also climb the summit directly via the stone stairs.
