Vischering Castle

The Vischering Castle Museum was reopened in early 2018 after a long period of renovation. 13 million euros are said to have been invested. In my opinion, the result is absolutely worth seeing. The focus of the exhibition is not only the way of life in the castle, but also the importance of the palaces and castles in the Münsterland is illustrated, among other things with a great animated three-dimensional map, in which the respective model of the castle you are looking for is highlighted at the push of a button and thus its location in the Münsterland can be illuminated in the truest sense of the word.

Particularly original and beautifully done: the image and video projections that bring the dining room to life. It is definitely worth visiting the castle from the inside! Opening times, see: burg-vischering.de.

On Saturdays and Sundays we bake in the stone oven. Look over the baker's shoulder and learn interesting facts about baking, stone ovens, sourdough bread, historical and practical things.
