A well-developed path leads a short distance parallel to the Panke. Even before you reach the railway line, a gate blocks the path along the Panke. Although you can easily walk around the gate under the bridge, the path then ends in a dead end. If you then want to get to the other side, you can only wade through the Panke or climb over the railway bridge. Both are not recommended.

@Lukas Beck is basically right: The gate is there and you can get around it. However, it is easier to use the bridge over the Panke 🙂. You can get back to the Panke via the S-Bahn station and Schönower Straße, or alternatively Fontanestraße.
